Home Not Home

The 1000 Words | Home Not Home project and exhibition features 36 artist’s work inspired by 36 writers’ work. On Display at Pilsen Arts & Community House located at 1637 West 18th Street in Chicago from May 3rd through June 2nd, 2024. The project also features a poster series distributed in our neighborhoods and wheatpasted on the streets. 1000 Words | Home Not Home examines the complicated dichotomies of the idea of home and is an exploration of the world we want! Home Not Home investigates various themes including: belonging/ not belonging, freedom/ captivity, safety/ danger, comfort/ discomfort, inclusive/ exclusive, building/ destroying, and place/ displacement. Home Not Home aims to demonstrate that while the concept of home is universal, the experience is very personal.
