Micaela Mercy is a Chicago-based interdisciplinary artist. Her artistic process includes utilizing a variety of media and creative language including, but not limited to, drawing and painting, ceramics, writing and poetry. Micaela’s educational background in both Psychology and Fine Art inform her art practice, as her work focuses on excavating and studying her subconscious and psyche while narrating both the trauma and healing that she’s experienced throughout her life. Underlying themes of generational trauma, abuse, and the journey to radical self-acceptance can be seen throughout her work, and she intends for art to be her gateway to philanthropy to intertwine her passions for art, healing and connection.
Raine Yung is an interdisciplinary artist from the Southwest Side of Chicago. Her practice emphasizes moving images and performance art alongside photography, installation, painting, drawing, and sculpture. Informed by her childhood trauma, her work explores consumption, artifice, and identity. She earned an Associate of Fine Arts from the City Colleges of Chicago in 2022 and is now pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with their Presidential Scholarship. She has a variety of professional experiences, from showcasing work with AnySquared Arts, event photography with SocialWorks, publication and graphic design with The Wright Side, advocacy with Young Invincibles and Today’s Students Coalition, and filmmaking with Free Spirit Media and the Chicago indie scene.
